Closure of Longli River Bridge in Guizhou Province, the World's First Mountain and Gorge Landscape Cable-stayed Bridge

On August 19, the Longli River Bridge in Guizhou Province, the world's first alpine canyon landscape cable-stayed bridge built by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co.,Ltd. , a subsidiary of CREC, was successfully closed. 

Longli River Bridge is located in Longli County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. Formerly known as Duohua Bridge, it spans Duohua Grand Canyon with a total length of 1260 meters. The main bridge is a double-tower double-cable plane steel-concrete composite girder cable-stayed bridge with a main span of 528 meters and a width of 30 meters. The main tower is a thin-walled hollow diamond-shaped cable tower with a height of 265 meters. The top of the tower is about 400 meters from the bottom of the canyon, and the bridge deck is about 280 meters from the bottom of the canyon. The main bridge and tower pillars are equipped with sightseeing glass walkways, sightseeing elevators and aerial viewing platforms, which integrate transportation, tourism and other functions, and can enjoy a 360-degree view of the Duohua Grand Canyon and Longli Prairie. China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co.,Ltd. mainly undertakes the task of manufacturing and installing about 13,200 tons of steel girders for the whole bridge.

Due to the bridge is located in the karst landform area, the karst gully is strongly developed, and the bridge is located in high mountains and valleys, the construction is difficult. Aiming at the difficult problem of steel girder erection of super-high main tower cable-stayed bridge, China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co.,Ltd. has developed the "installation technology of super-high main tower cable-stayed bridge in mountainous area", and innovated a set of installation methods for super-high main tower cable-stay bridge in mountainous area with wall-attached crane, beam carriage trolley and beam erection crane as the core, which effectively solves the problems of narrow ground construction area, difficult transportation of steel beam and inclined cable. And that construction efficiency is improved.

Longli River Bridge is a traffic control project connecting Longxi Inland Open Economic Development Pilot Area and Longli Grassland Area in central Guizhou. After the completion of the bridge, it will become a fast passage connecting the grassland area with the outside world, and the travel time from Guiyang City to Longli Prairie will be shortened from 1.5 hours to 30 minutes.
